Pip Lund
Hair and make up artist to the stars, now living in Australia, Pip Lund, studied Hair and Beauty Therapy at Bradford & Ilkley Community College in the 1980s.
“I spent 2 years studying Hair and Beauty Therapy
at Bradford & Ilkley Community College from 1983
to 1985. I made lots of good friends and still have
contact with a few, but think I am the only one who
migrated to Oz!
After College I did my final 2 years in a salon in
Bradford called Christopher and Paul’s before I
went to work for myself for 5 years. I was given a
government grant to set up the business and I was
one of the first mobile hairdressers in the area.
As well as enabling me to work doing something I
enjoyed, my City & Guilds also helped me when I
then decided to apply for residency in Australia.
I
studied make up, including special effects in film and
photography, at Mask Make-up Studios out here in
Oz. The rest is history. I am now self-employed as
a freelance makeup artist and hairdresser working
for film, TV, photo shoots and weddings. I currently
work on lots of different shows in Oz for Channel 7,
Channel 10 and Foxtel.
I have had also the privilege of working on movies
including Star Wars Episode 3, Narnia and Superman. The photo is of me with one of my
characters from Narnia.
My career has led me to meet all sorts of wonderful
and exciting people. I absolutely love it! I have
worked with many stars such as Ewan Macgregor, Sir
Anthony Hopkins, Matt Damon, Antonio Banderos,
Natalie Portman, Cate Blanchett, Christopher
Lee and Jerry Seinfeld, and sports and music
personalities.
I have many tales to tell but they are top secret as
this is all part of the job!”
